Acid rain

Rotting vegetation and erupting volcanoes release some chemicals that can cause acid rain, but most acid rain falls because of human activities. The biggest culprit is the burning of fossil fuels by coal-burning power plants, factories, and automobiles. The gases can be carried hundreds of kilometres in the atmosphere before they are converted to acids and deposited. In the past, factories had short funnels to let out smoke, but this caused many problems locally. Factories now have taller smoke… Continue

Did you celebrate the earth day?

What is the earth day?

Every day should be earth day but it's popularly celebrated in 22 of april, why?

'One persistent rumor holds that April 22 was chosen because it's the birthday of Vladimir Lenin, the founder of the Soviet Union. '

Did you know this about Manhattan?

http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/6624/manhattanh.jpg

Before it was an urban jungle, Manhattan was a huge green island and a home to the Lenape Indians, who called the island Mannahatta, or "land of many hills". When you look the before and after pictures of Manhattan you wouldn't believe that it is actually the same place at all. Today we could rebuild Manhattan using the best ideas of green design. Inwood Hill Park contains the last natural forest and salt marsh in Manhattan.

"Legend has it tha… Continue

Most earthlike planet yet found!

The planet known as Gliese 581d has a lot more in common with Earth than astronomers first thought. New measurements of the planet's orbit place it firmly in a region where conditions would be right for liquid water, which means - life ! First discovered in 2007, Gliese 581d was originally thought to be too far away from its host star to support an ocean.

Norton's colleague Haswell added: "It is very exciting that such a promising candidate for an Earthlike planet has been found so close to us.… Continue

Like Perttu already said, organic farming is not the answer to our problems. I still prefer organic goods, because they are chemical free and that way more healthier and they taste better.

Also I preferred the text and its humorous way to say things. The video is maybe little boring compared to the text even if it tells more information about rain forests and how important rain forests are.
